Milestone Insurance began as Morganton Insurance Agency, a small independent agency founded in 2003. With over 20 years in business, our team and business continues to grow exponentially by keeping a client-focused approach, with the goal of providing them with the best possible coverage and service at the lowest possible cost.
Our team and history.
The agency was founded by Debra Garrou, who made the decision to move over to the independent side after over a decade as a highly successful producer with both Farm Bureau and Nationwide. In 2014, Keith Cannon joined the agency as a Partner and Agency Principal after 20+ years of experience within the insurance industry. Together, they were able to expand the agency’s reach beyond Burke County and Western North Carolina while keeping our clients at the forefront.
In 2024, Max Seng purchased the agency after seven years as a producer specializing in business and life insurance at an independent agency in Hickory, NC. Today, the office boasts over 60 years’ of industry experience and has expanded to offer services in North Carolina, Tennessee and South Carolina, maintaining the same core focus of doing what’s best for our clients.
